Now that you’ve listed…

So you’ve taken the plunge and you’ve listed your home with Bahia Realty Group.  This can be a bit of a scary time, as of course you’re eager to get the best price from your home.  While you can rest assured that my business partner Raul and I will do our very best to get buyers for your Tampa home – and with our experience and contacts, that’s not hard – you might want to know what to do to impress prospective buyers when they walk through your door to have that oh-so important first look around.

We all know that first impressions count.  Good grooming is important for you, and it’s important for your house, too.  You’d make sure that your house was all tidied up and neat when visitor come, so of course you’ll run around with the vacuum cleaner and do the dusting before prospective buyers turn up.  But don’t forget the garden!  Make sure that the lawns are cut and that flower beds aren’t overgrown with weeds.

Having nice, attractive features around your home can also make prospective buyers feel at home – and if they feel at home, then they might want to make it their home for real.  Fresh flowers in vases in bedrooms, dining rooms and lounges are a nice easy way to make your home attractive to home buyers.  If your furniture is on the well-loved side (e.g. if a cat has made holes in the couch arms or if there’s chips and dents in the table top), then using throws, rugs and mats in strategic places can cover over the signs of wear and tear.  Yes, I know the house buyers aren’t buying your furniture, but having run-down furniture can give a run-down feeling to the whole house – and you’ll make them wonder what condition the fabric of the house is in.

In later posts, I’ll give you some more tips on making your home attractive.
