– it was once known as the “Cigar Capital of the
World” – the festivities include contests,

Tampa Recreation
Tampa
boasts the nation’s longest uninterrupted sidewalk: Bayshore
Boulevard. Elegant homes and public installation art line
Bayshore as it arcs around the bay, making it a favorite sport for
joggers, bicyclists, roller bladers, and dog
walkers. Dozens of public parks provide courts,
fields, and public swimming pools, and don’t forget the
Skatepark of Tampa, which draws visitors from across the country each
winter. Naturally, Floridians love golfing, and Tampa has
many public and private courses, among them the famous Babe Zaharias
Golf Course. Water sports are another area favorite, and
there are many public marinas where homeowners can launch powerboats,
jet skis, canoes, and kayaks. Local charters can arrange
fishing trips, parasailing, and sailboat instruction.
