Life in New Tampa

In addition to all the city-maintained public parks and private golf and country clubs, New Tampa real estate is minutes away from two Florida state parks: Lettuce Lake Park and Hillsborough River State Park. Lettuce Lake Park sits along the banks of the Peace River and offers 3,500 feet of boardwalk over the water, an observation tower, and a nature hiking trail. Birding enthusiasts frequent Lettuce Lake to spot herons, hawks, osprey, white ibis and other species, but visitors often also see alligators and turtles in their natural environment. Began as a CCC project in 1936, the nearly 4,000-acre Hillsborough River State Park features camping, canoeing, fishing, a gator-safe swimming pool, and interpretative nature trails. Cory Lake and Lake Thonotosassa provide plenty of extra fishing, boating, and other water recreation acreage.

Each year, residents gather for the Taste of New Tampa, an outdoor event that showcases the finest dining restaurants in the area. The food festival has combined with a Business & Health Expo that further educates residents of unique opportunities and facilities.
