Anyone looking to purchase real estate in Florida would do well to consider any of the many towns and cities within the greater Tampa Bay metropolitan area.Tampa Bay includes Tampa itself, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater officially, as well as many smaller communities each with their own charms and amenities.Tampa Bay real estate addresses span Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties in Central West Florida, home to America’s beautiful Gulf Coast Beaches. 2.7 million residents call the Tampa Bay area home – let us show you why, and help you find the prefect piece of Tampa Bay FL real estate for your family.

Refreshing coastal breezes and dozens of cultural and theme attractions aren’t the only things Tampa Bay has to offer home buyers.  A burgeoning economy and quickly expanding job market provide a stable base for anyone seeking either to establish a business or secure employment. Among major American metropolitan areas, Tampa Bay consistently features lower cost of living and home prices, low overhead for businesses – and no state income tax.

The appeal of Tampa Bay Real Estate

Many Tampa Bay homes for sale offer amenities considered luxuries in other parts of the country; for example, in-ground swimming pools, boat docks, and lush tropical landscaping are all frequently available.  Swimming pools with integrated hot tubs, whirlpool systems, and sun-shade screen domes are typical offerings in the realm of Tampa Bay real estate.  Docks run the gamut from long, sunny fishing piers to covered boathouses with multiple davits and deepwater sailboat access.

The majority of Tampa Bay homes for sale are new construction, though some older real estate is available for potential residents desiring history and character.  As Tampa Bay rapidly expands in population, new home construction struggles to keep pace with demand, making existent properties the best bet for people needing to purchase Tampa Bay real estate quickly and easily.

Some of the more popular addresses include: Clearwater and Clearwater Beach, TampaNew Tampa, Brandon, Lutz, Plant City, Riverview, Valrico and Wesley Chapel. (Click here for a list of all the Tampa Bay areas that we serve)

Location, Location, Location

Thrill-seekers will enjoy Tampa Bay’s proximity to Orlando, Florida’s central spot for fun and entertainment.  Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, Sea World, and of course Disney World (which encompasses the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, Disney-MGM Studios, and Downtown Disney), offer weeks’ worth of exhilarating experiences.  In addition to world-famous theme parks, Orlando offers GatorLand, Fantasy of Flight, Daytona USA, WonderWorks, the Skycoaster, and myriad other exciting and informative attractions.

Weekend jaunts to the laid-back luxury of the Florida Keys are easily within reach – just board the high-speed catamaran at Ft. Meyers Beach for a relaxing trip.  Sarasota and Brandon, both high-class cities with excellent cultural attractions such as the Ringling Museum and Selby Botanical Gardens, are just a short drive across the famous Sunshine Skyway Bridge.  And virtually anywhere in the world is within close reach, when you live next door to one of America’s best international airports, TIA.  Tampa International Airport is a longtime favorite of travelers and magazine editors alike – Conde Nast Traveler awarded TIA the distinction of best American airport, and third best internationally.

Tampa Bay waterfront homes and luxury homes are at the top of a sea lover’s list, while homes for sale in the interior areas of Tampa Bay are adjacent to the action and more affordable realty.

Climate

Tampa Bay enjoys a year-round tropical climate, which means you can pack away your mittens and expand your swimsuit wardrobe after purchasing your piece of Tampa Bay real estate.  Florida’s Suncoast came by its name honestly – boasting an unbelievable 361 days of sunshine per year and gentle Gulf breezes, Tampa Bay real estate has become among the nation’s most coveted.

Business, Economy, & Employment Opportunities

With no personal income tax and low property tax millage rates, Tampa Bay appeals to hundreds of entrepreneurs each year.  As they open, these new businesses further stimulate and diversify the area’s economy, which currently is lead by service, retail, insurance, construction, real estate, and financial companies.  Tampa Bay communities offer assistance to relocating businesses, several active small business development programs, and incentives to companies whose operations would aid in redevelopment of the urban centers.

The Port of Tampa is Florida’s largest and most trafficked deep-water port, and also operates a rapidly expanding cruise ship terminal. Several large corporations headquartered in Tampa Bay include Raymond James Financial, TECO Energy Inc., Outback Steakhouse Inc., Times Publishing, and the Home Shopping Network.  The Tampa Bay area provides the fifth largest high-tech labor force in the country, and an extensive network of research facilities run by the many local universities.

Quick Access to America’s Top Beaches

Dr. Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a. Dr. Beach, ranked Fort De Soto Park's North Beach America’s Best in 2005 (and top beaches are respectfully retired from future rankings).  The professor of environmental studies considered many factors, including water quality, sand type, and beach facilities, before conferring the prestigious title on this Bay Area beach, a favorite with locals as its virtually unknown by tourists.  Fort De Soto comprises five islands of white sand beaches and clear coastal waters.  Relics of Spanish-built forts rest half-suberged or intact on land for visitor exploration, and the area is renowned for its birding and variety of wildlife.

Further north, Caladesi Island garnered the number two “Best Beach” ranking in 2006.  Its azure waters and virgin pine hammocks recall the Florida of old, before the barrier islands were developed. Accessible only by private boat or by ferry from Clearwater Beach or Honeymoon Island, Caladesi beach features a marina, concession facilities, excellent shelling and fishing, and offers visitors an opportunity to experience the real Florida.

Better known Tampa Bay area beaches include St. Pete Beach, home to the iconic Don Ce Sar luxury hotel & resort; Clearwater Beach, a spring break favorite; Treasure Island; Pass-a-Grille; Madeira Beach; Indian Rocks Beach; and North Redington Beach.  All offer parking, dining, excellent swimming and sunbathing, and a chance to unwind like a true Floridian.

Cultural Venues, Attractions, & Events

St. Petersburg is quickly becoming a favorite city of art enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why.  The Fine Arts Museum, the St. Petersburg Museum of History, and the Salvador Dali Museum have long drawn acclaim.  The selection of St. Petersburg as the future location of America’s only Dale Chihuly glasswork museum ensures the Tampa Bay area plays host to the largest permanent collection of his well-known pieces in the country.

Across the bay, Tampa’s innovative Museum of Science and Industry delights and informs adults and children alike, and presents an awe-inspiring dome IMAX theatre that screens high-resolution, 360-degree nature documentaries as well as select commercial films.  Lowry Park Zoo is among the country’s top-rated small zoos, and the Big Cat Rescue sanctuary affords a rare opportunity to see large felines up close. Tampa’s several art & photography museums feature traveling exhibits, informative lectures and classes, and extensive permanent collections.

The four stages of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall draw famous American and International Each spring the American Stage professional acting troupe performs at the waterfront Demen’s Landing Park in St. Petersburg, and plays their six regular mainstage events in a downtown theatre. Tampa’s troupes include the Gorilla Theatre and Jobsite Theatre.

Tampa Bay is known for three things: cigars, pirates, and baseball training.

Famous local events include the long-standing Gasparilla Festival and Parade, during which well-intentioned pirates invade the streets of “The Big Guava,” slinging beads and drawing crowds by land and sea (via Tampa Bay, more exactly).  Gasparilla has grown to incorporate a charity run and a juried art show.  Downtown St. Petersburg’s annual Mainsail Arts Festival is among the state’s largest and most respected, and is followed in June with the popular Taste of Pinellas dining showcase.  In February, visitors come for miles for the Florida State Fair and Plant City’s succulent Strawberry Festival.  Satisfy your appetite for history and turkey drumsticks at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival each March, then head to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg for high-speed Indy car entertainment – don’t forget your earplugs.  Other annual celebrations include the Crawfish Festival, the Tampa Bay Blues Festival, and the world-famous Halloween revelry of Guavaween in Ybor City.

In addition to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, fields throughout the Bay Area host major league teams during spring training, including the New York Yankees.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took home the XXXVII  NFL Superbowl championship, and the Tampa Bay Lightning the 2004 Stanley Cup. If you prefer swashbucklers to linebackers, the John Levique Pirate Days in Tarpon Springs and Pirate Days in Treasure Island are sure to please.  In addition to those listed above, many art, boat, holiday, seafood, and historical festivals are held annually in the Tampa Bay area, ensuring there’s something to suit every taste and interest.
